What are you really saying?

WHAT ARE YOU REALLY SAYING?

Okay now we’re getting a little deep here. We started with words, letters that make up words, how we use words, and how we deliver the words we say.

Now, thinking this is the final blog on the subject. What am I really saying? I’m thinking you are probably bored to death by this time and that it is time to shut ‘er down.

That’s what I’m really thinking. And so I’m saying it.

How many times have you said, “Sure come over anytime?”  Now do you really mean that? Heck no! But you said it.

So….what it boils down to is reading into the words that people say. And what you say.

Haven’t you heard a dozen times….”Call me if you need me.”

Do you usually call them up? Most of us don’t. Why? They offered.  Or did they?

That’s where this next step of innuendo or insinuation comes in. When someone says something to you, you wash it through your own “screen”.

I’m very good at this. I read into what I think they’re saying. Sometimes my intuition is right. Sometimes I’m dead wrong.

See the power of words? No wonder our minds are constantly reviewing what people say. Gets a bit tiresome doesn’t it? Causes us to react. Sometimes positively, sometimes negatively. But that’s where personality comes in.

Same sentence. Two different people.

Suppose someone asks you, “Would you mind if I….” (you make up the scenario).

One person I know asks me that question and I’m all over it. Another person asks me the same question and I’m digging my heels in. Nope not doing that for them, whereas the first person, I can’ t wait to get my shoes on and get out the door.

Why is that? One person needs you, the other one uses you. Simple. Same words, different scenarios.

WORDS. What powerful tools they can be for good or evil. Don’t forget to watch the innuendo so what you said, you really mean! You are in charge!

Blessings to each of you…and I really mean that!
